Linux_Is_Best (linux_is_best@mastodon.social)'s status on Friday, 18-Aug-2023 03:30:24 JST Linux_Is_Best @nixCraft I have a web server using Arch Linux. It has been going on for a little over 5 years now.
When you think about it, there aren't many points of failure for a simple web server (Apache, Nginx, PHP, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and the few minimal barebones OS files).
I set one up at the request of a client. At the time, I thought they were nuts. Turns out, not so much.

johnpiers (farstrider@mastodon.social)'s status on Friday, 18-Aug-2023 11:17:17 JST johnpiers I've been using Arch for at least 17 years and it's never [sic] "crashed" on me. The only time it's ever broken was when I did something (most often against my better judgement, knowing full well that it was going to cause problems.) or that I neglected to do something! As for the others, I've only ever used Ubuntu for any real length of time, other distros, basically a cursory glance, not much more.

Oh,a flame war 🔥 come on! If you crash Arch is because you tried hard, and for the same thing it's more stable than Debian.Debian has the fame but historically ever was a crashing distro.
For example, #openSUSE #Leap is more stable than Debian by far. I would say even #Tumbleweed.
