     @Nudhul @rees yeah if you put consistent tension on a strand of hair it has the possibility of damaging the follicle causing it to die essentially. So if you constantly have your hair up in tight braids or ponytails you're going to lose hair grown on the edges

     @Ryu @rees @Nudhul an important thing to remember is that black hair is generally tightly braided under any sort of wig or weave and the tighter it's braided the longer the hairstyle lasts. Because these hairstyles cost hundreds of dollars there's incentive to get your hair pulled back as tightly as possible so the style lasts as long as it can
