   I heard someone call these ugly recently. I think they were confused with some other flower.

     @Pantangelini yeah many plants can kill dogs. I keep them safe. I did once accidentally throw some in with the birds, and I think they were affected in other ways.
     
     These come up every year as volunteers. I have kept some seed back but I lost them and like the spontaneity of volunteers. This one is growing above some kale in a planter at about 2ft. I suspect they were included with my compost. I haven't planted them in years but last year I had a few that were about 4ft tall around my pear tree
