This new cooler is a God damn chunker :doge_laugh:
-
I was almost sold one like this (wasn't quite needed), they said this thing outperforms water cooling by sheer bulk.
-
@Feinmuehrer @Ronnie21093 You're thinking of that $150 Noctua cooler that indeed outperforms AOI watercoolers.
He prolly has the same cheap cooler master cooler i have. It performs ok but nothing to write home about.
-
@Ronnie21093 @Feinmuehrer I guess i have older model since i've had it for years. Mine looks exactly the same except the heat pipes are arranged differently. And i replaced the stock fan with a Noctua fan that i had laying around.
-
@Tamamo @Feinmuehrer I have a Hyper 212 EVO
-
@Ronnie21093 @Feinmuehrer AMD's stock fans are ok. But for gaming you want something better for sure.
AMD's coolers are a hell of a lot better than the garbage coolers intel includes with their CPU's that's for sure.
Speaking of cooling. Undervolt your CPU with PBO for better temps and performance.

@Tamamo @Feinmuehrer My friend sent me this fan. Told me the stock Ryzen 5 fan isn't particularly good
-
@Tamamo @Feinmuehrer @Ronnie21093 AFAIK cooler master hyper 212 were very good back then, and they are relatively cheap. Never owned one tho.
-
@ryuuji @Feinmuehrer @Ronnie21093 I vaguely recall buying it because i had no cooler and it was the best bang for the buck at the time.
It can still keep my 5800X from throttling so if it aint broke...
