   I kind of want to give macOS a spin again on my old Macbook. Unfortunately it's an unsupported model, but I can get it spinning again with this tool

   Linux works but it doesn't support all the features of my macbook hardware and generally speaking the performance is quite poor

     @neko I think everything up until Big Sur works on any CPU since Core 2 Duo, later versions started requiring AVX2. I still have a Catalina VM with CPU spoofed to Nehalem, and it works just fine with GPU passthrough.

     @Pawlicker @neko Updated and spent like two hours getting sound to work. AppleALC has a bunch of hardcoded audio controllers none of which seem to be compatible with whatever QEMU emulates. VoodooHDA just works, but later versions broke loading the kext from OpenCore, had to disable system integrity checks and put the kext into the system itself. After that I don't want to hear Linux audio jokes ever again.
