OPEN BOLT SHITBOX SMG OR BETTER YET A REPEATER SHOTGUN ARE MORE THAN ADEQUATE FOR DIVERSITY MOMENT AND ARE READILY FABRICATED
HIGH PRESSURE STEEL TUBING IS CHEAP, AND EASILY RIFLED VIA NIGGER RIGGED ECM OR EVEN VIA SCRAPING IN ONE GROOVE AT A TIME WITH A JIG AND A CARBIDE TOOTH FROM A SAWZALL BLADE
I HAVE SOME THOUGHTS FOR PUMP SHOTTIES MADE OF BLACKPIPE, 2X4 OFFCUTS, AND PVC PIPES BUT IM NOT GONNA AUTIZE HERE
THE BOTTLENECK IS AMMUNITION
AND THE BOTTLENECK OF AMMUNITION IS THE CASE -- PROPELLANT, PRIMER, AND ESPECIALLY PROJECTILES, ARE ALL EASILY PRODUCED
DRAWN BRASS CASES ARE NOT SO EASY TO MAKE

@nugger Don't really kbow too much about ammo but what's the problem with steel case ammo?
-
@DE HOW EASILY CAN YOU MAKE STEEL CASINGS IN YOUR GARAGE
-
@nugger Forgive me, wandering into territory beyond my ken, and expecting to get smacked down, but if it's already hot enough to make the steel plyable for a blade, and weve got ways to make casts and the like what is stopping from casting the case with enough heat into a proper mold.
Realize I'm most likely missing a few obvious things, but I've never known as much as I would like.
-
@DE NO IM SORRY IF I PUT YOU OFF, ITS JUST NOT REALLY VIABLE FOR THE AVERAGE MAN OR A MAKESHIFT SETUP TO MAKE STEEL 9MM CASINGS
EACH INDIVIDUAL PIECE IS TINY, ALMOST TOO TINY FOR HAND TOOLS TO BE USED EFFECTIVELY
THE METAL NEEDS TO BE UNIFORM, SEAMLESS, AND THIN ON THE CASE WALLS, AND THE CASE HEAD IS A PUCK OF MATERIAL WITH A SHAPED RIM RINGED AROUND IT AND TWO DIFFERENT DIAMETER CENTERED HOLES DRILLED INTO IT FROM BOTH ENDS -- A PRIMER POCKET AND A FLASH HOLE FOR THE PRIMER
AND THE CASE HEAD AND CASE WALLS HAVE TO BE THE SAME PART
ITS A LOT OF EFFORT AND HASSLE FOR A SMALL AND FRANKLY CONSUMABLE ITEM
-
@nugger Depends if you know how to make a forge I suppose. Doesn't need to be a perfect thing just good enough and you can get em about right
-
@DE
-
@nugger @DE If you're already drawing the case walls, then you'd just engineer the press process to leave material at the base of the in-process shell casing for machining the rim and primer spot, which is how making bullets works now
-
@DE THEORETICALLY THE PRESSURE COULD BE LOW ENOUGH TO HAVE THE CASE WALLS AND CASE HEAD BE SEPARATE, LIKE A SHOTSHELL
THAT WOULD EASE THE PROCESS GREATLY
CASE WALLS COULD BE COPPER TUBING DRAWN OR PRESSED OVER A MANDREL, CASE HEAD COULD BE CAST OR MOLDED FROM EPOXY OR MOLTEN ALUMINUM OR COPPER
THEN THE TWO COULD BE PRESSED TOGETHER OR GLUED OR SOLDERED
