That was a refreshing experience, kinda.
A very kind gentleman gave me twenty dollars. I tried to explain I wasn't homeless, just in between jobs, but he insisted. The most impressive thing is that there was no indication from either his voice or body language of any attempt to impress his date. It was genuine kindness and concern. Very rare to see that even in a friendlier than usual small-ish town like here.
I haven't held a twenty dollar bill in maybe a year or more... Not sure what to do with it beside save it for now.
If this had been a hidden test of character, that young man would have passed with flying colors.

Character is one of the hardest things to test for...
It's a pain in the ass to separate actual virtue from the false.
