     Changed my mind... taking online college courses for a completely different sector 😭

     Without doxxing myself, I really want out of software and IT. It’s not what it’s cracked up to be. I’d rather be an electrician or truck mechanic or anything else

     In software/IT, you basically work for the government or a Fortune 500 corporation or one of their subcontractors. There are no available jobs in most states, or even in most countries

     @ec670 @Yukari_Kajiwara You don't want to be a truck mechanic. You don't want to be a car mechanic, or any other kind of mechanic, for that matter, unless you specifically refuse to service vehicles newer than 2010. That has all of the existential dread of being an itoddler dev, and also you have to mash your hands up during your work.

     Unlike things like fuel and electricity and HVAC, which are necessary literally everywhere and can’t be outsourced to “the cloud” in a data center on the other side of the continent
