   Seems my ISP kills my bandwidth now if I even so much as think about torrenting even if it's for completely legitimate and legal reasons.

     @RyokoPilled yeah I didn't think about it. in the past it hasn't been much of an issue but as soon as torrent traffic started I was floored to half a mb/s

     @thatguyoverthere this unfortunately is why VPNs are a must with torrenting for so many people.

     In the US I've received letters from xfinity several times even for downloading Linux ISO files via torrents. Seems like ISPs just hate torrents.

     @darthmew yeah I have a wireguard tunnel, but I don't send everything over it. now I know for next time. I've never had them throttle it down like that before.

     @RyokoPilled I just run wireguard out to a small VM that I use for a few other things. I also have proton VPN but I don't really use it. Wireguard is simple and I have the VM already.I just need to reconfigure it on my end to send all traffic if I'm going to use bittorrent. I can probably actually isolate the traffic better if I want to, but it's not as easy as just sending everything.

     @teratology @RyokoPilled yeah wireguard is probably my favorite of all VPNs. It's fast, lightweight, and built into the kernel. It's also pretty straightforward as far as configuration goes.
     
     I have found that when I ran my peer in digital ocean I ran into a lot more captcha but I don't seem to have that problem with incognet. They also accept crypto (including xmr)
