I still mostly acted as myself but displayed properties of other people and a mindset that I'm playing them as a character. It may seem kind of cringe I'll admit but it was my way of getting past any anxieties when talking to folks until I was comfortable with them. Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this. -

If you’re stuttering and stammering, take a bit and slow down. People are often quick to jump in and respond, and they don’t give themself a moment to collect their thoughts and load the mental magazine before firing off your sentence.
