   Yes, it's when there's a server silencing activated. The connection to the server is still there, but it is restricted in its visibility.

   This can also be done by admins for individual accounts.

     @feditips Technically, what does it mean when I get a "the server admins think you should approve these follow requests"? Is this when their servers have been silenced?

     (I didn't know this feature existed and wouldn't have found out if I hadn't gone to the web interface - not visible on the app I use)
