(Seriously, though, might just be easier to use a free VMWare instance and install them under something like Fedora.)

Macs are very sniffy about installing open source software. There doesn’t seem to be a way to tell my laptop that it belongs to me and I’ll install whatever the hell I want on it - I have to override security for every single installation. Most recent are VLC and Schism Tracker. Homebrew works fine- is there a way I can override this behaviour?
