@nixCraft As someone who used Windows 95 until Windows 98 and the abomination that was Windows ME, I understand the nostalgia. I really miss the fact the entire Windows operating system in those days didn’t spy on every single thing you did on your computer.
@nixCraft Windows has come a long way over the years, but a key thing that Microsoft (and frankly a lot of UI designers) have forgotten is that UI should actually be relatively simple and minimal. I won't say 95 all around struck a perfect balance, but it did find a lot of good balances and was much closer to that perfect point than where Windows is today. (Though if I'm being honest some Linux UIs are forgetting this lesson too.)
