     @Leyonhjelm @schratze Depends on what you define as fascist. The bad parts of fascism are shared by all branches of globohomo. Fascism was an attempt to reconcile modernity with particularism and a recognition of natural aristocracy. The totalitarian aspects of fascism are also the mechanistic, leveling elements that are similarly embraced by neoliberalism and communism. Fascism is demonized because it touches on certain elements of human nature that are inconvenient for modernism. The resonant power of the authority of a strong leader rouses the masses to action in a way faceless bureaucracies cannot. Acknowledgement of nation and race is an obstacle to the total rule of the modern bureaucrat. Fascism really is feared because it uses the tools of modernity against the modernist bugman.

     @Leyonhjelm @schratze For that matter, frequently neoliberals denounce the tyranny of communism while fully embracing the soft totalitarianism of civil rights policing of all human interaction, not standing for meaningful freedom but hating communist dictatorships exalting a singular leader as an embodiment of the state. A singular all-powerful leader inherently embodies a sort of accountability, in a dispersed bureaucratic state there's always some other department to pass the buck to, and nothing is ever really anyone's fault, so there is no one you can kill to liberate yourself from the tyranny of the system. It's possible to overthrow a Putin and enact meaningful change in Russia, the same cannot be said for Biden, since he's not really in charge.
