   If you live in a democracy, but said democracy has no authority to decide who can or cannot enter said polity, you effectively have a global democracy. And global mob rule is inevitably dehumanizing, demoralizing, and hostile to any authentic community or society. Local, regional, and national self-determination must be bedrock principles for anyone claiming support for human freedom of any kind.
