lots of crying about Twitter's demise.

personally i found it hard to meet people on there. it seemed to be for people who already had a network.

Mastodon is the only social medium i've ever used where i encounter new people all the time. to me, that was always what i hoped social media would do for me.

in reality, most of them are just places where popular people can send updates to their friends and fans. seeing as i don't care what popular people think and i'm not popular myself, they're completely pointless to me.
