Like no matter what you do, youtube is always going to be a piece of shit. It's infected to the core. The only sane move is to archive everything you care about and give the finger to anyone that refuses to publish elsewhere.
@thegxhttp://config.rakka.au The only reason I don't have a macro to pipe stuff from yt-dlp into my peertube instance is because their API docs require javascript to read (wtf lmao). Honestly I think ftp is better than peertube, but I'm sure we can do better than that. Maybe epicyon with appropriate config and client would be sufficient, and probably worlds ahead of peertube.
@Zerglingman Yeah haha...I just meant as non encrypted option to publically store videos...for private encrypted cloud options I like #Tresorit but they not free but at least they endorsed by other Privacy Apps like #Tutanota etc...
@thegx No that's my point. It's even bad at that. peertube is just, from start to finish, shitty software. Like how often have you tried updating it? Did you enjoy merging the config files? (Did you even get provided a new config file?) All ~800 lines? No sane software needs 800 lines of config. Maybe 10 of those are justified as mandatory, the rest should just have sane defaults. Its nginx conf is also the only one I don't understand in full (several of which I wrote myself)
@Zerglingman Oh haha I'm not expert and I don't maintain any of that it's the Instance and PeerTube of my home Instance @annihilation.social that I use...actually I only started using it recently but I do like using it to post publicly...
