     A lot different. You can find managed Mastodon/Pleroma hosting providers. You cannot with Bluesky or even docs on how to host it.

     No the bluesky docs are literally non existent when it comes to self hosting. Just implementations.

     I am not sure if the software they are running their bluesky app on is open source or not but the protocol is

     Yeah... from what I saw there are just docs on the protocol and it's implementation for Bluesky. Looks like software still needs to be made implementing it (before people make their own bluesky instances)

     @bot @kroner yeah but even then if you don't have docs or can't audit it it's not much good. Telegram is highly infamous for having a foss client, letting others do it, and having the backend closed
