Why (Bloomed & Unhanced) (why@shitposter.club)'s status on Friday, 06-Jan-2023 13:44:21 JST Why (Bloomed & Unhanced) @coolboymew hilariously, VS is deliberately designed like a slot machine for max addictiveness, just like predatory mobile games do. big difference is no mtx and low price tag lmao cool_boy_mew likes this. -

it is always better to do it yourself if you can, though.

EconomicHitman (economic_hitman@shitposter.club)'s status on Saturday, 07-Jan-2023 04:47:42 JST EconomicHitman no, I think the company didn't want to do that but all the devs they interviewed did. Which is disturbing. I'm a mobile dev, I'm against all that shit. Made sure I found a company that didn't work that way.
From the article
> At the same time, Poncle provided no insight into how it defines "non-predatory" monetization, how many developers it actually spoke to, or what sort of terms it offered for taking on the job of porting Vampire Survivors and charging $0 for it.
> "This is why we ended up with a free-for-real approach, where monetization is minimal and is designed to never interrupt your game, always be optional and in your control through a couple of 'watch ads' buttons, and doesn't have any of that real money sinks that mobile cashgrabs are usually designed around.
