   We’re in Rhodes and have been evacuated due to the wildfires.

   We’re safe in a hotel which has been turned into a temporary refuge.

   By all accounts, 30,000+ tourists and locals have been displaced in the last 24 hours and let me tell you, it’s been fucken scary.

   We went from our hotel being turned into a refuge to jumping on the back of a dump truck in the middle of the night, to walking for hours in pitch black to finally getting picked up by a coach to take us to where we are now.

     Also, it’s been hell for more than us today. Our hotel was a “safe zone” even this afternoon (yesterday at this point).

     People had to walk to our hotel for up to 4 hours in 38 C heat. People with young kids. Old people. Vulnerable people.

     They then again, had to walk for hours to get a chance at safety.

     I’ve bumped into a few here thankfully and they’re safe.

     Climate change is here and now, yes. How will you go back home? Swimming ? Or by plane which as a great part on this? Don't make me wrong, I don't want to shame you. But i think you are in the right place, at the right moment to ask yourself: what is consequence of my human way of life ? The first day of your new life?
