I'm pretty consistent about how I react to posts now.
fav -> read, or if I'm not tagged, I smiled
boost -> I laughed
both -> image contained bird

@Zerglingman
I hate that I enjoy the skinnerbox that is likes, etc. I do everything in my power to devalue it for others, as well as myself.
If I hate a post I will always like it.
If I like a post, I will also like it.

@Pyrrho Very sensible. The alternative is to disable likes (and other reactions) entirely in your client, and minimise boosts to a) you can boost things and b) boosted posts have a *sutble* indicator that this is the case.
Annoyingly, thedesk doesn't support this. It does support collapsing the *reply* count to 0, 1, or 1+. Y'know, the one actually useful number.

@Pyrrho ... But subwaytooter does, at least most of this. Maybe not disabling the ability to give out likes.

@Zerglingman
That makes sense, but it's similar logic to blocking. If someone blocks me, I am still able to reply to their posts, I just get to mock them unopposed; I am not worse off for that.
People use favorites as a barometer for how much the groupthink in the thread agrees with them, like Reddit's gay voting system. Problem is "winning" that contest is tangential to actually being right, but that's not their emotional reality.

@Pyrrho Hence if it disappears it stops being your problem.
