@berkberkman @GinNig The last one is probably on to something, at least for the middle classes. Around the time, most women seem to have rough fabric, relatively plain dresses for ease of movement and simplicity in construction.

  @GinNig Not sure how they dressed back then. This was all that I could find from an archive of SMU. This doesn't look like casual clothing to me.
