You can probably add syntax highlighting yourself. I don’t like how tabbing isn’t auto

that’s an understatement. vi’s made for the textual interface of unix and it’s amazing at that. but people came to appreciate different kind of interface since then, and at that point vi’s terribly lacking.
emac’s just an interface to itself, it’ll take anyone.

And good luck getting out of it you pressed any key without reading the welcome message. Emacs does a better job by providing a landing screen with a tutorial which doesn't go away once you type anything... and by being a gui that you can just close normally, i guess. -
menherahair (menherahair@eientei.org)'s status on Wednesday, 19-Jul-2023 08:11:35 JST menherahair @cinerion they had my fren learn vi in collage for some reason and he got shit for not being able to exit
then I attempted to explain to him how to exit and taking all possible circumstances into consideration and it took 2 sizable paragraphs. an enlightening experience all around

I added basic emacs editing and movement shortcuts to mine.
But the biggest problem is when you are trying to read something that is written badly.
I sort of like the github code viewer too (but I feel dirty when I use it).
Most people pay far too much attention on the editing part instead of the reading and understanding part.Machismo likes this.
