   @lina @ElDeadKennedy @coolboymew these were terribly underpaid and understaffed, which cuts both ways. most of the staff was legit fanatical about video games as a medium and it resulted in some goat content, but some of the recording is plain filler and recorded by the producer (tomek….) who can’t play for shit.

     @menherahair @ElDeadKennedy @coolboymew insane really, i think we also had a few programs dedicated to video games, but it was mostly just reviews, and since one i'm aware of aired in the 90s, not only did i get to miss out on it completely, but it also featured primarily 8 bit and 16 bit stuff
     im not sure if this is the one, but one of those programs reviewed mario 7 (the grand dad game) as a legit mario game

     @menherahair @ElDeadKennedy @coolboymew there's several games i outright ditched because the devs acted like morons for more money
     tf2 went to shit because they shoehorned matchmaking that nobody asked for, but also they added weapon skins that contrary to what valve thought didn't fucking turn the game into another money machine, and all the weapon balance changes that nobody asked for either except competitive losers (and even then, on most of these gay events there's a whitelist where most of the affected weapons aren't included)
     dota 2 went to shit because they kept adding shit that nobody asked for either, like personal couriers and neutral drops and those outpost things, all those weird ass map changes, new heroes that look like lol rejects, it sucks
     and unrelated mostly but i ditched payday 2 because after the devs promised no microtransactions on top of all the dlc's, they added weapon skins :ryukowtf:

     yea but the thing is, vidya isn’t a niche hobby anymore, you’ll be hard pressed to find a tv broadcast with vidya reviews and all that has sincere passion driving it, people just treat it as either a timesink or as a means to make money

     just remembered the other modern vidya tv show I’m aware of, of which the whole point of is that the host doesn’t play vidya because he’s too cool for it. he gets to some events and interviews and he just does a fucking terrible job. i hipe that died

     that’s partly why i hate esports (the other part is because they lead to bullshit balance changes nobody asked for)

     I refused to play dota because they nerfed doom’s ulti once after years of it being considered fine and balanced. I’ve since quit moba altogether frankly it was actually a good thing as far as I’m concerned

     i really hope something completely causes television to collapse here so it can get back up again and we get the kino grainy 90s schizophrenia again

     people pretty much got a second shot at the medium with youtube. we’re pending another one, liekly with fedi involved, for a contemporary take. soon (tm)

     yeah this looks like some 90’s shit. we had a similar one but I’ve never seen it, but I know it covered deus ex and all the good stuff.

     the one I linked started in 00’s and closed shop in 10’s. by that time vidya coverage in poland was pretty advanced so it went for anything from these music videos and in-depth reviews to retrospectives and talk shows. towards the end it got even more ambitious with tech coverage and subculture stuff but when internet really creeped into normiesphere it just died. you can still find some of the hosts on yt and twitch, and one does life coaching lol

     since then the only vidya tv I’m aware of happening is gry komputerowe show, which is entertaining in it’s own right but it’s some eric andre shit and has little do do with vidya really. I think you can watch esports too but it’s not on cable so I wouldn’t know.
