     @lanodan they've all been heavily pirated (when you couldn't buy them) and translated, so there shouldn't be any worry about their stuff disappearing

     @coolboymew tbh I just really like koikatsu because it has one of the best character creators of all time if you want to make anime girls. iirc I think they also released a slightly more sfw version called koikatsu party or something??? Actual gameplay sucks tho.

     The truth: Illusion's games sucks. The Gameplay is horrid. You play for the modding capability and fucking your waifu. So it's more or less a barely interactive dollhouse with horrible controls and fucking your waifus. Also they took decades to finally translate their games officially, so they were vastly pirated before this
     
     The games are expensive as shit, 90$+ is what they've always costed. Hentai is commonplace, eroge is commonplace, Steam, DLSite, etc, ecchi games that are just plain better, and there's more and more everyday
     
     It's not too hard to see why

     @coolboymew @McMongoose True and unfortunate. When they finally made it to steam with koukaitsu party, i was ready to actually support the company and purchase the game. Why didn't I? Because they never released its DLC on steam till way the fuck later. I'd be more than happy to support games and companies when they give me accsess to the product.

     @coolboymew @McMongoose They're heavily moddable and just complex enough to reward autistic tweaking and modification without having as sharp of a learning curve as Blender.
     The gameplay and story is awful but for being a waifu dollhouse Koikatsu is pretty damn good. A lot of the Pleroma-tan OC you see around is made using it.

     @mrsaturday @McMongoose I'm aware, it's a good tool, but the gameplay is just really non-existant. Even the Nintendo Tomodachi Collection (The Mii games) which are kind of just a barely interative dollhouse are deeper and more interesting than these
     
     Some small indie devs with a patreon could probably replace them and release a better product in the long run

     @coolboymew @McMongoose I mean, I view it as a tool more than a game myself. I've messed with it some, mostly studio rigging, but I haven't touched the game portion any. From what I read I can agree it'd be really stupid and not very fun.
