   I bought a Thunder Shirt for my cat Juliet because she is so scared of thunderstrorms.

   It was a slow process to get her warmed up, but the directions say to leave treats on it and place it on the floor during a normal day without thunder storms, over a long period to get the animal used to it.

     yeah it is supposed to be good for anxiety relief in general, like an autism blanket lol.

     It should help calm the dog from separation-anxiety, but I wouldn't leave the dog alone completely while he's wearing it. Someone has to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't freak out and get claustrophobic while wearing the Thundershirt, or get stuck if he tries to get it off and it gets hooked on something.
