@black6 Literally all open-source software allows you to monetize it. If not, it's just source available.

Even Stallman has clarified that GPL doesn't exclude one from charging for the software, as long as the source code is provided to the user(!) under the GPL terms.
The interesting part; the user may be a company that could lose "something" by publishing the GPL'd source code, that they purchased from a developer. And the GPL'd code remains hidden from public, and possibly sold again.
