     @professionalbigot69 Even WE got too large. The other day they told me I was a head of something or other. I technically have 2 other people under me, but when they onboarded they assumed they report to my boss too, so until I decide to pick up the leadership mantle we’re coworkers

     @chainsaw_appreciator Will depend on how diligent they are in inspecting it over time. If it were MINE, I’d force the issue and replace the part with the newer replacement ahead of seeing any issues, and have it rolled into the deal. But since that’s not my end of the bargaining table I’m trying to get the Mfr to pay for it.

     Chances are, provided they have someone who actually does the inspections as ordered, they’ll find it before it becomes a problem and fails. But I can’t guarantee inspection quality on the other side of the country for the next 10, 20 years so per the golden rule I figured I’d help them out a bit. But whatever….not my problem most likely.

     if its a small doc i'll move heaven and earth to get their shit right one way or the other ASAP even if i have to do off-color stuff like use my out-of-production parts that fell off inventory that i reconditioned
     
     if it's a indian doc or large corporate client that is just using the unit as another billable service that doesn't give a shit, well then neither do i

     @Paultron What I wanna know is how many of us are doing the same? I was just talking to an airline guy who said he could have stepped in on his time off and helped out the company when they had a no-show (that is weird enough, pilots aren’t that flatky 20 yrs ago) but decided “ah screw them, I’ll jumpseat on another line”

     A society where the smarter, capable people are only looking out for themselves is in the works

     @Paultron The more I see the more I’m tempted to toss it all away and move into the wild again. I do miss it, being closer to the earth and death like that. Cabin 15 miles outside of town, nobody can get a hold of you except the people who “usually seem him around 5 or 6 o clock” who can “give him a message for ya”

     Hard to find women who want that life, would only be really enjoyable w/ a big enough family to ‘bustle’ with activity all the time

     @Paultron I had planned to spend my last stretch of bachelorhood going back into it, working in either LatAm or china (for a change) but now that I’m domesticated and enmeshed ever deeper into the family/community it’s hard to give up. Too many relying on me to abandon now.

     Just a dream, unless a couple of us go in on a plot
