     A lot of site that aren't big tech let you use RSS for everything. Store categories, fediverse user feed (or through nitter, but that's semi dead), anime search updates RSS, custom manga and LN updates if you sign up to novel updates, blogs, etc

     @coolboymew np, I remember disliking that UI change too. Protip: you can set the external browser to point to an executable script that'll be run when you double click on a feed (I use it to auto download nyaa torrents or open yt videos on mpv)

     Sounds pretty traditional to me. I once went 25-0 at Otakon back in 05 with Shiki Tohno while some person who had drank we too much was shitting themselves and puking in the toilet next to the stall I was playing in.
