Narbray (narbray@varishangout.net)'s status on Thursday, 13-Jul-2023 12:59:49 JST Narbray Blue lock is a project created by the Japan Football Federation to create the best striker in the world and make Japan relevant in world soccer. For this, they take a group of promising young high school players and lock them in a place where they will go through rigorous testing and training. Our protagonist is someone with no apparent talent who is selected for this purpose and shows us how he is progressing within this project.
I loved it, I'm not a fan of soccer or sports in general but I really like shounen spokon and this has turned out to be a nice little gem, the series puts us in an excellent way in the matches and confrontations, and turns soccer into a psychological combat within the field squeezing the physical and mental layers of our characters. Its strong point is how interesting it manages to make the matches, generating a mental evolution of our protagonist in each of them and squeezing their mental capacity and talent, as well as facing them psychologically.
The animation leaves a little to be desired, it is not the worst but could be better, many scenes are noticed a little cringe with cgi and at times the quality drops quite a bit. The soundtrack is excellent keeping the tension and emotion in every moment.
Anyway, it is a highly recommended series, the truth is that I have seen some panels of the manga and the anime does not do so well, especially for its animation, but it is still a very good series.
