According to a friend, some redditor with dubious sources claimed to know that the reason Tears of the Kingdom barely references Breath of the Wild is because Nintendo didn't want to alienate new players. Big if true. Also incredibly stupid to appeal to the five people who bought TotK but didn't play BotW. :thinking:
For now, I have gathered evidence that there might not be a Looper scenario going on and that Revali and Vah Medoh did exist in TotK's timeline even after Zelda went to the past and squashed a mosquito, altering the future in a way where most people don't remember Link despite him saving the world just a few years ago.

@natsock @Rasterman or doing it years after dragon quest style
Sure the timeline is fucky in DQ but it's manageable to understand
-
@Rasterman If story and continuity didn’t fit with the game design, they ignored the story and continuity. Having glaringly empty divine beasts taking up part of the world would have been weird, so that explains one discrepancy.
I’d say they should have written a totally different story instead of going with one that’s literally broken.

@natsock @Rasterman all of the timelines
Especially the zenithian trilogy

@luithe @Rasterman
I assume you’re referring to the first three games
-
@natsock @Rasterman isn't 5 and 6 you literally finding 4's descendants?
-
@luithe @Rasterman
I was under the impression that 4/5/6 aren’t in the same world but instead share references to things.
