@coolboymew “Even if nuclear power were clean, safe, economic, assured of ample fuel, and socially benign,” said the god head of renewables, Amory Lovins, in 1977, “it would still be unattractive because of the political implications of the kind of energy economy it would lock us into.”
@coolboymew@VIcFury Nuclear is the safest, cleanest, most powerful, and most cost effective method of generating energy. It's not a secret, it's always been well known. There would be zero "energy crisis" anywhere in the world (at least in European countries) if they didn't shut down or decommission every nuclear plant over the last 20 years without new plants to replace. The majority of nuclear plants still running are in US, Canada, China, and various other Asian countries. There are a handful still running in Europe, in France and maybe one other country. If a country doesn't have massive amounts of hydro power (like Canada), "green energy" is code for "criminals scamming the public".
@VIcFury@coolboymew The same is true for e-fuels. If you can transform clean electricity into a fuel for the cars that we already have, there's no longer an environmental reason to shill for EVs or dense urbanist pipe dreams.
@coolboymew@VIcFury "Environmentally friendly" energy means all the energy sources that protect the Environment where America and Israel are top togs that keep Europe's industry down and/or too expensive. Simple as.
