   Like, suddenly being upset your public posts are being used by Facebook, because they made a fedi instance...

   It's a bit like giving a speech to a stadium of 40,000 but getting in a huff halfway in, because you noticed the tally light on a camera that was on the whole time.

     Idk maybe use something other than public posts, on your public profile visible with no authentication, inside a decentralized social media network?

     Just a thought. Advertisers and the like were crawling fedi literally the entire time. Just because someone didn't make a press release about it doesn't mean it's not happening.
