     @coolboymew @olmitch I figure what I should do before the Deck arrives is set up a local Arch repo for things I want to install on it from AUR, then populate it with packages i makepkg here on the main computer. Then just add the repo to /etc/pacman.conf on the Deck and bing badda boom
     
     In fact that's also what I should do for the media server now that I'm moving it over to Arch as well, so I don't need the whole build chain on there

     @coldacid @olmitch keep in mind things should be installed locally on your user folder on the deck or they will be wiped at some point after an update

     @coldacid @olmitch yeah, if you're planning to pizzaz it to the max, think again because the OS does get wiped on some updates, but your user folder is intact. So if you manage to install locally to user folder, you'll be fine for some stuff
     
     Otherwise nothing prevents you from installing another Linux OS or whatever, but you lose the Steam OS features

     I managed to build and use Trackma locally too, so if I go to work with the Deck, I can watch anime during lunch by connecting it to my monitor, and my watch still updates
