     @darnell I dunno man, the entire point of the fediverse is to get out of big tech, and now big tech is going to force itself upon us (and suck up our posts for big data purpose). It's better to firewall block that stuff and stay out, because if we don't get used to a life without big tech, the Internet will be nothing but Big Tech and you'll have to live with that

     @coolboymew When #Threads embraces #ActivityPub, I will have a way to communicate with my friends & family from #Misskey, #Mastodon, #Pixelfed, #WriteFreely & #WordPress.

     Once they see the power of #Fediverse proper, they will begin to seek out alternatives. I will prepare myself to provide better options.

     @darnell Hmm, I didn't see it this way. Considering the account pretty much comes for free from instagram, this could actually be a trojan horse for people to actually learn about it and quit big tech
