@ChristiJunior massively bloated staff + management that starts out 'inept' and then descends to 'deranged' and 'treacherous' as external forces are applied and the managers have to hit diversity quotas and make sure the dialogue passes the Bechdel test + having to pay grifters and advertisers to make up for the low quality of the game
@ChristiJunior Aside from the obvious money sinks of diversity officers and bloated HR/PR departments, modern AAA devs also end up hiring disproportionately massive teams in order to either achieve ridiculous release times or to facilitate cramming in more "realistic" graphics. If an indie game and a AAA game both make $50 million in sales, the indie game might be making millions and millions in pure profit, whilst the AAA game actually lost money, cause the AAA dev is paying 2000+ people and the indie dev is paying maybe 40 at most. :zt_naruhodo:
