     @mjdxp Sounds like coercion. What's different about when we do it vs when governments and corporations do it? Do you support border walls around nations?
     
     I'm not an instance admin anymore, but my position on fedi has always been to leave it up to the users to curate their own experience. As an admin I would be hesitant to block anything that doesn't run the risk of getting me in trouble. If my users had a problem with a user on another instance my stance would generally be to inform them of the mute and block features at their disposal.

     @thatguyoverthere i'm just trying to protect myself and the fediverse, if enough people block instances for federating with threads, then it'll give other instances a reason not to federate with threads
