     @Suzu @DaVibri You can still buy them. I still remember the endless discussions of what was better DVD-R or DVD+R.
     
     The biggest downside of burnable optical is how unreliable they can be for long term storage. I have 15 year old burned disks that still work fine but also a whole bunch where the recording dye just rotted away over the years.

     @DaVibri @Suzu In general i found later gen CD-R's to be more reliable than DVD-R's.
     The ones with the gold'ish dye i mean. Most of my early green dye CD-R have suffered bit rot.

     I had like more than a hundred DVDs burned.

     @DaVibri @Immahnoob @Suzu Honestly i only used them a few time before i got my hands on a network adapter and just shoved a HDD in my PS2 with FreeMcBoot softmod.
     
     It was kinda a pain in the ass to actually get games on the HDD since it was slow as fuck over FTP.

     @DaVibri @Immahnoob @Suzu The PS2 died ages ago. I think i still have the adapter somewhere if didn't toss it along with the PS2.
     Might have to try getting my hands on a later model fat PS2. I had an early model and that thing sounded like a vacuum cleaner.
