kind of funny how we have something called non-food grade plastic that is absolutely allowed in things that touch your skin. which touches food.

They shouldn't leech chemicals primarily. The micro plastics issue is a separate one, but they have also made biodegradable plastics which theoretically won't stay around and become micro plastics. -

I don't thing that touching your food (or skin) with non food grade plastics will poison it immediately, however if they remain in contact for extended periods of time or get exposed to high temperatures, some might get absorbed. -

the whole idea of "food safe" is that it poisons you only ever so slightly enough that nobody will care or notice until one day you can't ignore its effects -
