     I would prefer if the majority of donations were made by ordinary users but I know that's largely a pipe dream.

     It's a great question, because creating content can be very time-intensive for the creator, and hoping to generate income so you can do it full-time is reasonable.

     What I hope eventually happens with niche #PeerTube instances is they can be sponsored by a few corporate sponsors. While there are some potential ethical issues here, I believe them to be less so than constant bombardment of privacy-disrespecting ads. The revenue can then be split between the instance and creators.

     @tilvids I starting to think how can we monetize creators video so they can move to Peertube.
