We let these go to seed last year, and the baby had a good time squeezing the seed pods and watching them pop open.

@thatguyoverthere for a sec there i though that was a jazz cabbage :blobcatlul:

@OldM8 lol nah they are impatiens I got in a flower mix I bought last year. One of the nicknames is touch me nots because the seed pods are super sensitive to touch and spring open to eject their seeds. The baby loved the spring action so he was squeezing them everywhere.

@OldM8 there are several colors. All of the flowers but the blue and yellow ones are impatiens. The blue ones are a creeping thing I can't remember the name (needs to be cut back constantly) and the yellow are pansies (so named because they are the most finnicky and delicate things to care for afaict)

@thatguyoverthere The pink flower ones?
I'm slightly short sighted :blobcatgoogly:
I know ginseng, hops, nettle and okra tend to have that kind of leaf structure :blobcatwink:

@OldM8 impatiens also come in orange, but that's a more wild variety called jewelweed. I'm told jewelweed often grows near poison ivy (which would be convenient because it has a soap like substance in the stalk), but in my experience the poison doesn't really care who it grows next too.

@thatguyoverthere ah okay
