@Coyote I like stihl but they are pricey. If you have to choose only one size I'd say a larger bar is better. Unless you have experience sharpening chainsaws you'll need a few chains too (even if you can sharpen there are different pitches for ripping vs crosscut). They go dull fairly quickly IME

Serious question, to gauge the depth of my fedi connection resources, I'll toss this in...
Presuming a small pickup, van, or large car, going into the woods, what is the most effective chainsaw size and brand to have, say, you were going to need to build all you could out of trees, and may not make it back to town any time soon?
Husqvarna still make good shit? 20" or bigger or to heavy? blade swaps, rigs, what's the state of the tech in "I'm going to the woods and may not come back" tech for 2023?
