@Narbray Wouldn't that be slow as hell? It would make booting windows from an 5200rpm laptop HDD look like a SSD.

@DarkMahesvara @Narbray I still have trauma's from our school network in the 00's with machines that network booted off some old silicon graphics machine as that acted as a server.
Its was sloooooooooow. Also if the server shat it self, which it did on a regular basis, all the connected machines would crash and your work was gone.
God that set-up was so fucking retarded. :reimu_sigh:

@Tamamo @Narbray (i assume you mean it the other way around) it really depends on the connection. there are already thin client products from Dell and Citrix which are very light on the hardware usually running some custom linux just to boot and open connection to the server.
imo i doubt they will 100% commit to it (for now) simply because connection speed and coverage are still shit even in 1st world countries. maybe they will make a hybrid as a bridge until then but this is for sure the end goal.
