      I liked how GW1 handled merging TCG and RPG systems myself, I think there's a lot that could be done with a system similar to that where you collect skills and use them to customize how your character plays in various situations

      @mrsaturday @moth_ball @coolboymew @ooignignoktoo there was a D&D 2nd edition book, DragonLance I think, that had players use a limited deck of numbered cards instead of rolling dice, depending on how badly you wanted to complete an action. it was not popular.

      I guess their latest foray into Dragonlance is a trash fire, too. 5e doesn't have a system to handle mass combat, so Wizards is selling a board game to simulate it. Now you have to play a board game for one aspect of a campaign and pen and paper for the other.
