Ah yes my favorite, "Game that tricks you into thinking youre gonna fight the final boss but instead throws 1,000,000 enemies at you, 50 rooms leading to him, and a 5 stage boss fight at the end"
-
@apropos @ItsSkyDragonz Never forget when you have a multi-phase boss fight with several cutscenes in between but the early phases are easy and the last one is stupidly hard and is where you keep losing.

@ItsSkyDragonz my favorite is still the "you lose the fight and get a game over -- but wait, it's a hopeless fight and a false game over!".
Especially in the console era where my response was to immediately reboot the console and load my save.

@ArdainianRight @apropos Multiple stages are ok in a boss fight if done right. If its slowly increased between stages its fine. Or if you can save and heal before the next fight

@ItsSkyDragonz @apropos Yeah. It just sucks when the difficulty spike at the end is really high and you have to repeat the really easy phases to get to the one. I do like how the OG Xenoblade has the 2nd phase of the final boss as the hardest with the 3rd being the easiest, as it's satisfying to crush him with your shiny new power-up.
