     @PraxisOfEvil what you are experiencing as doomerism is actually the liberal's normal point of view, of having faith in institutions such that he can't imagine them ever failing.
     there are many ways to expel this foul energy, but I recommend
     a. exercising an incompatible faith in God
     b. realizing that the corruption seems robust because the corruption is within vital organizations, and even the non-corrupt naturally swarm to protect those organizations because their failure would be tremendously harmful. People *really* don't want a collapse, and a collapse is not even required to expel corruption which after all consists of human beings who tend to drop dead after a hundred years of operation anyway. Like the villain says in Princess Mononoke, as bad as it seems right now, tomorrow it can be gone like this was all only a nightmare.
