but like the pic says the shows were still fun, btw the shows didnt necessarily have to meet all the criteria, but like everything at one point someone will disregard everything that was considered the norm and started adding whatever the fuck they wanted

Yeah, Tensai Oujo doesn't fit
Unsure if Yuusha Yamemasu fits either, it wasn't significantly lower quality either
Extreme Hearts definitively fits
I'm not sure about Super Cub, it was not low quality/budget either, pretty sure everything that watched it loved it too, it sure has a unique premise tho'
And cue, do it yourself, etc are nowhere near low budget and low quality either

Do It Yourself was extremely high quality. Cue, Birdie Wing, Super Cub, Tensai Oujo... does not belong there then
Akiba Maid Sensou is debatable, I remember the animation shitting itself in that segment at the end of ep 1, but otherwise, dunno?
Yuusha Yamemasu, I don't particularly remember it being low quality, but at least it's not on the level of other stuff and is definitively also very underrated at the very least

@tsugumi examples of actual lower quality shows this season would be Rokudou, Yuusha ga Shinda, Kamikatsu (I have never seen a director balance the budget so wildly, apparently he's a new director too. Sasuga kantoku-san, may you have a long career over this amazing shitpost)

@coolboymew kamikatsu looks good for the meymeys so maybe one day I will watch it, as for the director, well as for his future it will depend on how much shekels the anime makes because just gaining a cult following is not always enough, see the director of kemono firiends

@tsugumi Eh? Kemono Friend was because the management fucked him over royalty. IIRC the story was that the franchise already failed and was told he could do whatever. He made it a super success. Apparently did some extra episode or whatever without management approval and that got them in a tizzy and he got fired and the almighty management can't ever be wrong so did they all sort of fucked up shit like using the new VAs as a shield
Kamikatsu is just the craziest use of budget I've seen plus the material is nutters already. Show started interesting and it kept being interesting
Then there's the bad 3DCG, the obvious reuse of footage, whole episodes of it shitting itself, but on the other hand we have good animations on some episodes that needs it, background gags during exposition and even somehow made an entire episode of exposition interesting. I never saw anything like this in the 10+ years of watching seasonals

@coolboymew it wasnt an extra episode it was the nissin commercial that supposedly made them butthurt but that obviously was pure bullshit, in reality it was a powerplay from the execs and the original creator because they didnt want to let tatsuki get in control of the anime
