   The thing with "inclusive language", aka Fagspeak, is that it inevitably makes communication more cumbersome, and our language uglier and more dishonest. You constantly have to trip over yourself to acknowledge and validate every kind of special snowflake/subhuman freak imaginable, and the harsh truth has to always be cloaked in deceptive euphemisms ("undocumented immigrant", "sex worker", not to mention all the different ways they refer to black criminals just to avoid mentioning their race).
   
   And holy shit, is it obnoxious to listen to modern leftists talk, with their singular theys, all their nonsensical, pointless words and terms ("cisgender", "homophobic", "masculine-presenting" etc) and their pathetic linguistic virtue signaling.
   
   Always reject fagspeak, and always bully those who embrace it.

     @AshChapelsGhost @jmw150 I understand the thought process, but it used to be that we just defaulted to he, and that just reads and sounds way better. Of course, you can also default to "she" if there are good reasons to think the unknown person is female.
     
     However, if you're in an extremely male-dominated space, like playing a fighting game online, there's no excuse for ever referring to your opponent as "they", that's most definitely a dude you're playing, especially if you're somewhat good at the game, and its online multiplayer involves matchmaking that pairs up people of comparable skill levels.

"They" abuse gives you whip-lash over how many people you're talking about. "He or she" is always singular and also *so* tedious that it was used somewhat sparingly, so tedious that authors would rather define specific sexes for specific titles (the editor is female, the reader is male, the writer is male, the publisher is female) that authors would refer to over the course of a book.
     
     But "he or she" would go:
     >Before one goes to the toilet, he or she should first check his or her pants to see if he or she has a penis or a vagina. If he/she has a penis, go to the male toilet. Otherwise, go to the female toilet.

     The Pardoner's Prologue from The Canterbury Tales from around 1400 used singular they sometimes.
     
     "And whoso fyndeth hym out of swich blame,
     And whoever finds himself out of such blame,
     
     Thei wol come up and offre a Goddes name,

     @jmw150 @AshChapelsGhost "they" is always wrong tho. No individual is a "they". That's why singular they just sounds wrong when spoken, and is an eyesore when written. Hell, if an individual DOES go by "they/them" pronouns, he's a fag and should NEVER have had his identity validated in the first place, even accidentally. I also think it's very reasonable to pick a 80-99% chance of being right over a 100% chance of being wrong.
