     @ringo actually I have never roasted my own, but we have a coffee shop near me that uses an old roasting machine. You can always tell when they are roasting as soon as you pull up. It smells like smores or something.

     its a delightful smell. each kind of coffee smells a little different, too.
     
     the funny thing is if you stay about the roaster too much , im pretty certain you end up freebasing some of the caffiene by virtue of it burning up while you're roasting.

     @BowsacNoodle @ringo it really is an amazing smell. Coffee also has aroma therapeutic effects (the smell of coffee is energizing). I don't know if that's because of vaporized caffeine or some other compounds.
