   Boomers are…..very defensive of their bannerman dying in his little fagtube. They really think the pax were intrepid men of history, leaving their adventurous mark on the world forever.

   The oceangate CEO dude was retarded in many ways, but it’s somewhat admirable that he did it. He at least made a submarine and went down there, he just ignored the entire body of hard-won engineering knowledge smarter men had died to learn over the last century.

   I guess it’s a bit like this dude. You hear his plans - “oh, my lawn chair/balloon system is totally fine, if I go too high up I can just shoot it with this bb gun!” - and shake your head because they’re so out of touch and immature. But you still crack a smile because the guy’s at least doing something. It’s just comdemnable he didn’t just keep his submariner dreams to only himself, instead of offering tickets
